SBIRT Training

brings together the tools that employee assistance professionals need to screen clients for risky drinking, deliver effective counseling, refer and co-manage with addiction specialists EAP clients with serious problems, and provide successful case management and follow-up.

The training program is a joint production of Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA), Employee Assistance Societies of North America (EASNA), NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP), and the Center for Clinical Social Work.

Dr. Goplerud and Dr. McPherson brought together the nation’s leading experts and professional associations to develop this joint EAP training program. The BIG Initiative and the EAP industry as a whole are collaborating to ensure all professionals working in this field are skilled in delivering this core EAP service.

All of the training materials are designed to match the needs of employee assistance clinicians. The training will be available for webinar and face-to-face educational programs and for self-study on the Internet or on paper. The specifics of these modalities are described in the Section labeled: Matching Training to Your Needs and Your Schedule.
