EAP Institute, Waterford, Ireland - The Institute was
founded by Maurice Quinlan, the current Director, who introduced the concept of
Occupational Alcohol Programmes (OAPs) to the European Union and in September
1980 hosted the first seminar on this topic in the Clarence Hotel, Dublin,
Ireland. In 1985 he established the first external Employee Assistance
Programme (EAP) in Kilkenny, Ireland.

are located at European Union House, 18 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 We are the Commission’s voice in Ireland and
we aim to communicate EU affairs at both national and local levels.
National Framework Committee for Work Life Balance Policies - Work Life Balance consists of the implementation of working
arrangements and policies which assist workers in combining employment with
other aspects of their lives. Employers can benefit from these policies too as
they can help to develop a more committed and productive workforce. The Committee was established under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness
and continues under our current National Agreement, Sustaining Progress.
